ITAM Program Details

Class Offerings

Individualized Mentoring

Participants meet bimonthly with a mentor, complete targeted assignments, submit interpreting samples, and receive detailed, actionable feedback to support measurable progress. The mentoring relationship adapts to each interpreter’s goals, pace, and professional context.

In addition to the regular meetings with their mentor, participants have access to a Deaf Language Specialist who will provide guidance in Advanced ASL topics including vocabulary, grammar, and syntax.

Our classes provide a structured, consistent learning environment that supports interpreters at every stage of development. Participants engage in weekly ASL and English coursework, hands‑on interpreting practice, knowledge exam preparation, and ethics case conferencing. Each class is designed to build fluency, strengthen decision‑making, and prepare interpreters for real‑world work in both PreK–12 and Community settings.

Workshops and CEUs

All ITAM Program participants get free access to our full range of workshops. Participants will have access to total of 25 hours (2.5 CEUs) each year ranging from 1 hour (0.1 CEUs) mini-workshops offered monthly, 4 hour (0.4 CEUs) workshops offered quarterly, and a 5 hour (0.5 CEUs) ethics workshop offered annually.

Price

Join the Interpreter Training Academy and Mentoring Program for $75 per month and unlock weekly classes, interpreting labs, exam prep, ethics training, Deaf Language Model access, individualized mentoring, and workshop access. One price. No add‑ons. Full support.

Each step is designed to ensure the Interpreter Training Academy is the right fit and that every participant begins with a clear plan for success.

  • Complete the online application

  • Submit the $50 application fee (applied toward your first month of tuition)

  • Interview with the Program Coordinator to confirm placement and create a personalized professional development plan

  • Attend participant orientation

  • Sign the participant agreement to finalize enrollment
